MUM-T Formation Reconfiguration Analysis For a Defense Scenario Proceedings Article Thiago Nogueira Ferreira; Carlos Henrique Costa Ribeiro; José Fernando Basso Brancalion Resumo | Links | BibTeX | Tags: Formation Reconfiguration, MUM-T Defense Formation, Simulation @inproceedings{Ferreira2025MumTFormation, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) operating in formation can leverage the capabilities and efficiency of UAV systems. This paper analyzes the impact in terms of time and distance demanded for UAV formation reconfiguration in a simulated manned-unmanned team defense scenario against threatening drone swarm attacks. With limited time for defense, it is necessary to optimize the allocation of the UAVs to each position of the target formation. The problem of optimizing multiple UAV formation reconfiguration is solved with the Hungarian algorithm, and the performance of transitioning between different formation shapes is evaluated in our scenario through 3D simulations. The results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed formation reconfiguration solution integrated with our considered system architecture. |

Simulation Platform for Quadricopter: Using Matlab/Simulink and X-Plane Proceedings Article Helosman V Figueiredo; Osamu Saotome Resumo | Links | BibTeX | Tags: Matlab, Quadricopter, Simulation, X-Plane I INTRODUCTION @inproceedings{Helosman2012Quadricopterb, The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has grown in military and civilian areas of application. Several industries (automotive, military, factories, space, etc.) use robots for dangerous and repetitive tasks. This paper is dedicated to a special type of aerial platforms, the quadricopter. UAVs that has been highlighted by having flight characteristics and construction only, for example, hovering flight, vertical takeoff and landing, high maneuverability, low speed flight, and simple mechanics. This work proposes a tool for simulation and visualization of an aerial air-type quadricopter robots, using the flight simulator X-Plane 9, Matlab and Simulink. The aircraft under study is the so-called ITA-001, developed by the quadricopter study group the Aeronautical Institute of Technology – ITA. |
